Managed Motorways – Evolving Practice
Andrew recently presented at an ITS Australia industry event in Brisbane on applying lessons to evolve the state of practice in Managed Motorways. Managed Motorways are a means to extract more performance from the road asset and we now need to take the opportunity to continue to develop our practice to get even more performance from Managed Motorways, particularly given an environment of shrinking availability of both up-front and ongoing investment.
Such evolution in practice will require a keen understanding of what we most need to achieve from each project, through explicitly analysing and defining the problems to be addressed, understanding potential benefits and tailoring the solution to meet the needs, all while maintaining a coherent user experience.
